Welcome to the official website of the Kingdom of Batavia. Batavia is a micronation (a virtual country) in the form of a constitutional monarchy. Our country has a diverse cultural life that can be found at our forum and our wiki.

NEVO and Small Commonwealth

Batavia operates at all levels, including the international one. Thus we work together with several other Dutch micronations.
On the 1st of June 2007 Dutch micronations have united themselves in the NEVO (Nederlandse Verdragsorganisatie, Dutch Treaty Organization) in order to promote micronationalism more easily.
Together with English micronations we form the Small Commonwealth, an organization that organizes friendly wars, takes care of economic issues etc.

Micronationalism?

Een micronatie is een virtueel land of natie, die uitsluitend op internet bestaat. Het is een land dat (meestal) volledig is uitgerust met een grondwet, regering, parlement, verkiezingen, enz.
De burgers zijn niet virtueel, maar echte leden van een gebruikersgemeenschap ( dus het is ook geen echte RPG ). Lees meer op onze wiki.
A micronation is a virtual country or nation, that exists on the internet only. It is a country that in most cases has a constitution, a parliament, elections etc.
The citizens of these micronations are not virtual, but real members of the users community. Therefore a micronation can't be called a RPG. Read more on our wiki (in Dutch!).
